What you’ll do
- Drives/Operates Horizontal Directional Drill for installation of underground telecommunications cable conduit, including fiber optic cable
- Drives and/or operates diesel or gasoline powered equipment to/from/on jobsite (Backhoe, Trencher, Directional Bore, Digger Derrick, Pole/Bucket Truck)
- Locates other buried wiring/cabling
- Install underground telecommunications cabling
- Flagging (directing safe coordination of vehicles and equipment within general public areas where worksites are active)
- Property or worksite restoration
- Inspect equipment, work quality, specifications, etc. of work crews
- Performs general construction work (to include physical labor i.e. using hand tools, lifting materials on average up to 50 lbs, etc.)
- Performs all tasks according to directions, produce quality work, maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all Federal, State, and Company regulations and policies
- Performs other duties as necessary
What you’ll need
- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
- Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
- Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain it
- Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes
Physical abilities & exposures
- Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, in confined space and remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
- Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
