What you’ll do
- Manage wire inventory with routine checks and location inquiries.
- Cut power trunk and smaller gauge wire using specially designed wire spooling machines.
- Using forklift equipment, you will be loading and unloading large schools on and off their designated spindle locations.
- Inspect wire shipments for damages, loss, or defects.
- Read data lines on the wire to validate footage accurately.
- Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment.
- Stock shelves in the warehouse
- Pull spools/materials and distribute them to their designated area.
- Prepare wire orders for shipment in accordance with the pick ticket and customer requirements.
- Package and ship in accordance with packaging guidelines and accepted methods/practices
- Provide accurate reporting on receipt of materials and distribution of purchased items.
- Travel to other markets may be required for delivery/pick up of materials.
What you’ll need
- At least 18 years old
- Authorized to work in the United States for this company
- Currently have a valid driver's license (CDL preferred)
- 2+ years of experience within the Warehousing/Inventory industry (preferred)
- Able to operate various types of utility trucks, equipment, and hand tools in a safe manner; forklift experience preferred
- Knowledge and experience reading data lines on the wire to validate footage accurately
- Able to demonstrate the ability to follow directions, produce quality work, maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all Federal, State, and Company regulations and policies
- Can communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
- Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
- Able to work as needed (over-time, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies or on-call) and in all weather conditions
