At Bigham Cable Construction, as an Associate Accountant, you will prepare and book journal entries throughout the month, support month-end, quarterly, & year-end closing, reconcile ledger accounts, apply customer payments, make required account adjustments, and reconcile daily A/R activity. Position in office, based out of Piedmont, SC.

What you’ll do

What you’ll do as an Associate Accountant

  • Prepare and book journal entries and accruals as needed.

  • Support month-end, quarterly, and year-end close.

  • Apply payments to customer accounts from checks, cash, and EFT.

  • Maintain customer accounts by applying credits, processing small balance write-offs.

  • Submit short-paid and skipped invoices during application to credit personnel.

  • Reconcile A/R daily between activity and trial balance.

  • Maintain daily deposit log that reconciles to cash postings.

  • Maintain non-trade receipts log.

  • Update cash receipt batches.

  • Assist with bank reconciliation.

  • Reconcile accounts, research skips & shorts-pays.

  • Complete Audit request as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned. 

What you’ll need

  • You are  18 years of age or older

  • You are authorized  to work in the United States for this company

  • You have strong computer skills.

  • You have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • You have intermediate knowledge of the Google Suite of products.

  • You have good oral communication skills and telephone etiquette.

  • You have working knowledge of basic office machines.

  • You have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with others.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.

  • Knowledge of GAAP.

  • Experience working in accounting systems.
