What you’ll do

  • Perform fiber splicing, cable upgrades, and related tasks for both aerial and underground projects
  • Test, activate, and troubleshoot fiber circuits after installation
  • Ensure all splicing work meets customer specifications and industry standards
  • Safely work at various heights and in confined or underground spaces
  • Complete basic vehicle maintenance, including daily fluid checks
  • Accurately document work performed through daily production reports
  • Mark up maps, track material usage, and maintain organized records
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
  • Valid state driver’s license (non-provisional) with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and maintain a valid medical card
  • 6 months of fiber splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry
  • Certified pole climber or ability to demonstrate pole-climbing proficiency (preferred)
  • Knowledge of telecommunications network structure
  • Ability to routinely operate vehicles and heavy machinery
  • Ability to perform fine hand motions and work independently in remote locations
  • Ability to work with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift more than 55 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally work in confined spaces and climb poles using ladders and gaffs
  • Ability to use a keyboard and mouse as needed
