At Dycom, as an Associate Accountant, you’ll play an integral role in day-to-day corporate accounting operations; including but not limited to support with managing general ledger activities, reconciling accounts, month end close, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.

What you’ll do

  • Obtain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure-Adhere to GAAP compliance and SOX requirements

  • Support in the preparation & posting of journal entries with supporting documentation; including accruals and other necessary adjusting entries

  • Support with ensuring an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close

  • Assist with monthly bank reconciliations and compliance activities

  • Responsible for GL account reconciliation

  • Assistance on projects, including process improvements and internal control initiatives

  • Participate in the internal and external audit preparation

  • All other duties as assigned 

What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older

  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company

  • 0 to 2 years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting preferred

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with attention to detail, individually and collaboratively in a team, meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize workflow

  • Ability to work flexible hours and schedule as needed

 

Physical abilities & exposures

  • Routinely: Engage in standard office activities such as standing, sitting, and using computers for extended periods.

  • Occasionally: Travel domestically up to 10% to attend team meetings or training.
