What you’ll do
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs tailored to telecommunications construction activities, including underground and aerial projects.
- Ensure all safety programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize workplace injuries and incidents
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices
- Support subsidiary efforts to prepare and submit required safety reports and documentation to regulatory agencies and company leadership.
- Lead incident Learning Event analyses, ensuring thorough documentation and analysis
- Support subsidiaries in the development and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Foster a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement within the workforce
- Promote safety initiative and engage employees in safety-related activities and programs
What you’ll need
- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Safety Management role or relevant experience, with Power industry experience a plus
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Proficient skill in Microsoft Excel to include creation and manipulation of pivot tables, Google Applications for Business, and additional Microsoft Office products and iPhone applications
Additional qualifications
- Expert trainer with the ability to train others as trainers
- Demonstrate strong management skills including ability to collaborate and maintain relationships with multiple subsidiary safety departments, and work through issues with each while maintaining confidentiality between the companies
- Demonstrate knowledge of federal OSHA Construction Regulations and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
- Ability to learn and manipulate multiple internal computer applications and to interact with the data contained there
- Public speaking ability in groups up to 250 people
- Safety certification
Physical abilities & exposures
- Routinely:
- Able to travel domestically (approximately 50-60% of the time) by car and air
- Engage in standard office activities such as standing, sitting, and using computers for extended periods
- Occasionally:
- Exposed to outdoor weather conditions
