At Dycom, as a Safety Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise safety initiatives that strengthen operational compliance and frontline risk mitigation. This role provides exposure to Safety Management System deployment, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) optimization, and process standardization efforts across the organization.You’ll collaborate with Corporate Safety leadership to enhance accessibility, usability, and consistency of critical safety documentation that supports field operations nationwide.

What you’ll do

  • Support the enterprise transition of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) from legacy document formats into the Intelex Safety Management System
  • Develop and implement a structured process for standardizing and documenting JHAs within the Intelex platform

  • Assist with reviewing and updating the company’s existing Safety Manual to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with current standards

  • Collaborate with Safety leadership to identify process improvements that increase frontline usability and compliance

  • Participate in weekly meetings with Safety Managers to track progress, review feedback, and refine documentation strategy

  • Support additional safety program initiatives and documentation projects as needed

What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older

  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company

  • At least one year of completed college coursework

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, or a related field

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analysis or safety management software is a plus

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with high attention to detail

  • Interest in safety compliance, risk mitigation, and process improvement

  • Ability to travel up to 20-30% to subsidiary job locations and attend required onsite corporate events during the internship program. All associated travel costs will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy.

Preferred but not required:

  • Previous safety related course work or OSHA certifications highly desired
