The Sr IT Business Analyst’s role is to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient technology solutions in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The Sr IT Business Analyst is also responsible for generating and compiling reports based on the findings, complete with probable causes and possible solutions to systems issues. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving.

What you’ll do

  • Meet with business system owners and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues
  • Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems
  • Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions
  • Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications
  • Prepare and communicate reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in systems across the organization.
  • Create system proposals
  • Perform & document cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions
  • Create systems models, specifications, use cases, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to software engineers
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support
  • Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems

What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, accounting, or management information systems and/or 3-7 years equivalent work experience
  • Participation in and leading the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products
  • Knowledge of systems programming and associated activities
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts
  • Hands-on experience in the operation and analysis of data
  • Proven ability to envision system needs from business user interactions
  • Understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives and how technology solutions impact the organization

Physical abilities & exposures

  • Ability to successfully lift 20lbs
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects
  • Physically able to participate & facilitate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings
  • Some travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management
  • Flexibility to directly assist with any other tasks not specifically mentioned at the discretion or request from a member of management
