At Dycom, as a Sr Manager Risk Management, you'll have overall supervisory responsibility for the company's risk management program including administration of insurance programs, contract review, subcontractor compliance, sustainability reporting, and surety program administration. In this role, you'll build and manage relationships with brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators to secure optimal coverage on competitive terms. Working closely with the Legal Department, you'll address coverage disputes, contractual insurance requirements, and regulatory compliance. You'll also partner with operating company leaders, operations, finance, and legal across the organization to align insurance and risk strategy directly with the company's risk profile and core business objectives.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with the VP, Safety & Risk Management to develop and execute the annual strategy, marketing, and renewal process for all insurance portfolios (property/casualty, excess liability, environmental, executive, and surety)
  • Assist with risk management evaluations and integration for M&A targets
  • Build and manage relationships with brokers and carriers, conducting periodic performance reviews and managing RFPs
  • Consult with Legal on insurance provisions across commercial contracts, leases, vendor agreements, and real estate transactions to align obligations with coverage
  • Manage subcontractor compliance, establish insurance criteria for contractors and vendors, and oversee operating company compliance with local and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee the certificate of insurance issuance process
  • Manage data exposure collection to ensure data integrity and optimize renewal outcomes
  • Audit policy documentation and coordinate with brokers and insurers to resolve discrepancies
  • Partner with Finance to manage the team’s operating budget and oversee financial reconciliations, retro premium adjustments, and audit premiums
  • Drive continuous process improvements, including automating COI tracking and subcontractor compliance workflows

What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate risk management or with an insurer or insurance broker

 Additional qualifications 

  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance markets, policy forms, and coverage structures.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret actuarial data, loss runs, and financial reports related to insurance program performance.
  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with the patience and persistence to drive improvements across a large, decentralized organization.
  • Ability to communicate complex insurance concepts in plain terms to business leaders, helping them understand how decisions affect their operations and financial results.

Physical abilities & exposures

  • Routinely: Engage in standard office activities such as standing, sitting, and using computers for extended periods
  • Occasionally: Travel domestically up to 15% to attend team meetings or training
