What you’ll do
-
Read and understand site plans, maps, diagrams, designs, and prints needed to support assigned projects

Perform routine maintenance on the cable infrastructure to prevent issues

Diagnose and fix problems with cable signals, plant equipment, and customer service

Use the sweep function on equipment to check signal tilt, which refers to the signal's frequency response across the bandwidth

Adjust and align the physical plant to meet technical specifications

Record field information, including details about the aerial and underground infrastructure

Duties include splicing, terminating, and testing cables, using specialized tools to connect coax cables, and troubleshooting to locate and fix faults

Complete all production sheets, verify proper levels after activation, and adjusts and troubleshoots as necessary to close assigned projects

Identify and try to remedy sources of customer-perceived issues

Use tools like a CATV sweep meter to test and analyze signals in the field.

Ensure safety and quality standards are met

Maintain company tools and equipment in safe and organized manner

Complete and maintain paperwork and reports accurately
-
Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed

Perform work in all weather conditions

Other duties as assigned
What you’ll need
- To be 21 years of age or older
-
Ability to use signal level meter, volt-ohm meter, AC clamp meter television test set, spectrum analyzer basic time domain reflectometer and system maps sweep gear

Ability to travel daily and open to a variety of schedules (days/nights)

Knowledge of CATV signal flow and testing equipment

Ability to follow technical instructions and adhere to deadlines

Authorization to work in the United States for this company

High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience

Valid state driver's license
-
Three years’ experience in cable installation or related field
Physical abilities & exposures
Routinely: work alone in remote locations, at heights, in confined spaces, with arms above
shoulder level, use ladder, keyboard & mouse, operate vehicle & heavy machinery, squeeze, fine
hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, lift between 10-25 lbs, lift between 26 and 55
pounds and lift greater than 55 pounds
The wage range for Sr Technician Cable Installation (Sweep) is $15.00 - $25.00.
