We’re looking for experienced Telecom Engineering QC Technicians to join our team and help connect America. This is a remote position. Eastern time zone preferred, but you can work from anywhere in the US.

 

A successful Telecom Engineering Quality Control Specialist should have design experience with the analysis and design of OSP FTTH or similar projects, experience with the design of sites, analysis/review of field data, customer inputs, ROW/Permitting requirements and final design specifications.

What you’ll do

  • You will perform quality assurance on OSP Engineering packages created by other OSP designers.
  • You will review OSP design packages for accuracy, adherence to state and local guidelines, and customer design requirements.
  • You will document and communicate QC related items with management and designers.
  • You will maintain project drawing files, drawing library, and associated records and documentation per company policies.
  • You will verify the finalized deliverable package to the customer and verify all supporting documentation has been prepared properly.
  • You will verify that scope of work was followed
  • You will verify that all existing underground and aerial facilities are correctly located per customer records, city records, and field conditions.
  • You will identify missing and/or incorrect design information.
  • You will communicate quality issues with the engineer and engineering manager to find resolution. Keep continuous contact with engineer until all issues have been resolved.
  • You will approve designs before submittal to customer.

What you’ll need

    • You will have an understanding of OSP Engineering concepts related to the design and
      construction of fiber and/or copper cable.
    • You will have strong knowledge of aerial and underground design and construction requirements as they relate to the customer and any governmental guidelines.
    • You will have the ability to modify design prints using a PDF writer.
    • You will have the ability to maintain and update databases.
    • You will be deadline driven, self-motivated, and technically savvy.
    • You will have excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
    • You will have superior time management skills.
    • You will be extremely organized with strong attention to detail.
    • You will have the ability to be flexible, take direction with ease, including changes to schedule and workflow priorities.
    • You will have excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; make assessments and provide solutions to problems.
