What you’ll do

  • Lead and supervise a team of telecom laborers and aerial equipment operators to complete fiber optic and telecom line installation, repair, and maintenance
  • Coordinate daily tasks, assign responsibilities, and monitor team performance to meet deadlines and quality standards
  • Operate aerial equipment such as bucket trucks, pole climbers, and lifts as needed for complex or priority tasks
  • Read and apply blueprints, specifications, and job plans to ensure accurate aerial telecom installation
  • Conduct safety briefings and enforce compliance with all federal, state, and company safety regulations for working at heights
  • Inspect job sites for hazards and implement corrective measures to maintain a safe work environment
  • Communicate project updates, challenges, and progress to supervisors and stakeholders
  • Oversee site restoration by ensuring proper cleanup and secure installation of telecom lines and equipment
  • Resolve issues related to aerial telecom installation, utility conflicts, or equipment operation in real-time
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance skills and job performance

What you’ll need

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 5 years of experience operating and maintaining aerial telecom equipment and supervising crews
  • Valid state driver’s license with two years of driving experience and an acceptable record
  • Class A CDL preferred
  • Three years of experience in aerial telecom equipment operation, with at least one year in a leadership role
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job plans, and specifications for aerial telecom projects
  • Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
  • Capable of working safely in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and high winds
  • Self-motivated with strong communication and leadership skills


Physical abilities & exposures

  • Routinely: operates vehicles and heavy machinery; occasionally uses a ladder, squeezing and repetitive/fine hand motions; occasionally uses a keyboard and mouse, works with arms above shoulder level, repetitive bending and stooping, standing and walking, climbing stairs, able to lift greater than 55 pounds, works in confined spaces alone in remote locations

What you'll do...

  • As crew leader responsible for accurate and timely submission of production reports
  • Oversee crew assignments, ensure all operating and safety procedures are followed
  • Read/follow work orders and blueprints
  • Operate various equipment, machinery and tools to install/repair underground cable, fiber and placement of pedestals
  • Perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor such as digging holes and trenches, and working in extreme weather conditions
  •  Follow all safety procedures: wear hardhat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, approved footwear and seat belt. Also set up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers, and flagging traffic
  • Ability to read and understand work orders and operating instructions

 

Who we are looking for...

  • Ability to read and understand work orders and operating instructions
  • Knowledge of established buried/underground cable installation procedures and techniques
  • 1-3 years previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications industry.
  • Valid driver's license with CDL required.
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines under stressful conditions
  • Highly organized and the ability to multitask
  • Ability to accurately measure distance, using tapes or other measuring devices
  • locating utilities, planning bore paths, ensuring accurate placement, handling site logistics, communicating with owners, and maintaining gear, focusing on efficient, safe fiber/cable deployment
