What you’ll do
- Lead and supervise a team of power construction laborers and equipment operators to complete underground electrical installation, repair, and maintenance
- Coordinate daily tasks, assign responsibilities, and monitor team performance to meet deadlines and quality standards
- Operate underground equipment such as trenchers, directional drills, and cable plows as needed for complex or priority tasks
- Read and apply blueprints, specifications, and job plans to ensure accurate underground power installation
- Conduct safety briefings and enforce compliance with all federal, state, and company safety regulations for working with underground electrical systems
- Inspect job sites for hazards and implement corrective measures to maintain a safe work environment
- Communicate project updates, challenges, and progress to supervisors and stakeholders
- Oversee site restoration by managing backfill, compaction, and grading to meet project specifications
- Resolve issues related to underground power installation, utility conflicts, or equipment operation in real-time
- Train and mentor team members to enhance skills and job performance
What you’ll need
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 5 years of experience operating and maintaining underground power equipment and supervising crews
- Valid state driver’s license with two years of driving experience and an acceptable record
- Three years of experience in underground power construction and equipment operation, with at least one year in a leadership role
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job plans, and specifications for underground power projects
- Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
- Capable of working safely in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and confined spaces
- Self-motivated with strong communication and leadership skills

- Routinely: operates vehicles and heavy machinery; occasionally uses a ladder, squeezing and repetitive/fine hand motions; occasionally uses a keyboard and mouse, works with arms above shoulder level, repetitive bending and stooping, standing and walking, climbing stairs, able to lift greater than 55 pounds, works in confined spaces alone in remote locations
