What you’ll do

  • You will monitor all fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.

  • You will evaluate equipment for condition and risk factors according to state and Federal DOT requirements, as well as internal operating procedures and processes.

  • You will provide continuous oversight for asset accountability and ongoing process improvement initiatives.

  • You will assign trucks to employees and maintain equipment distribution lists, along with fuel cards.

  • You will conduct periodic vehicle and equipment inspections across the Lambert’s footprint, including 30-50% travel to field locations.

  • You will manage physical assets (e.g., machinery, vehicles, equipment, supplies). Evaluates, obtains and allocates physical asset resources, maximizes their use and projects future asset needs.

  • You will manage and establish working relationships with vendors and corporate representatives (e.g., suppliers, consultants, contractors)

  • You will act as the point of contact on all vehicle violations and toll queries within the assigned area, and collaborate with Fleet Administrative Assistant on timely payments.

  • You will apply critical thinking skills to understand problems, analyze facts and anticipate results to make decisions based on available information and meet deadlines. 

  • You will operate company vehicles in a safe manner and maintain a professional appearance.

  • You will perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

  • You will have One (1) or more years of experience in automotive fleet services, logistics or related experience required. 

  • You will have experience with vehicle repair and maintenance, collision repair and systems/components design preferred.

  • You have a valid State CDL Class A  driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an MVR record that is deemed acceptable by the company. 

  • You must be able to pass pre-employment drug requirements and background check.

  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Google Suite with the ability to learn new systems and software related to the role. 

  • You have the ability to travel 30-50% of the time, locally or within the assigned region. 

  • You have strong Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
