 *Please note that this specific position requires a Class A CDL (Class A Commercial Driver's License).

What you’ll do

Build the Backbone of Connectivity: As a Laborer II, you aren’t just assisting on a job site; you are a lead executor in burying the infrastructure that connects communities. You will master advanced equipment, safely operate commercial vehicles, and utilize precision techniques to bring high-speed telecommunications to life.

  • Lead the Groundwork: Take charge of high-skill construction tasks. This includes loading, delivering, excavating, and operating advanced heavy machinery for underground projects.
  • Drive & Transport: Safely operate company commercial vehicles to transport equipment, materials, and machinery to and from various job sites in strict compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Master the Installation: Expertly install and maintain complex telecommunications cabling, ensuring every foot of fiber or copper meets exact project specs and high-quality standards.
  • Command the Equipment: Operate, inspect, and maintain a fleet of construction vehicles and gear, treating your tools with the respect of a true pro to ensure ultimate site safety.
  • Own the Site: Bridge the gap between the crew and leadership. Communicate clearly with supervisors and mentor Level I laborers to keep the project on track—because we are all one team!
  • Track Your Impact: Document the day’s wins by submitting detailed production reports that showcase your team’s progress and efficiency.
  • Leave a Legacy: Ensure every job site is left better than you found it, handling final grading and site restoration to exceed client expectations.
  • Safety as a Standard: Champion a "safety first" culture, navigating all weather conditions and site challenges with a proactive, protocol-driven mindset.
  • Grit & Passion: Perform other duties as assigned, bringing the dedication needed to make each day a success.

What you’ll need

Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (Required)

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Authorization to work in the United States for North Sky Communications
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
  • 2+ years of experience operating construction equipment, utility trucks, or performing similar underground utility tasks
  • Strong ability to work independently and contribute effectively in team environments
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
  • Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
  • Effective communication skills and a proactive problem-solving approach
  • Ability to pass a drug screen (including DOT compliance) and a criminal background screening

Physical Abilities & Exposures

    • Routinely: Work in remote locations and confined spaces with arms above shoulder level. Operate commercial vehicles and heavy machinery. Perform tasks requiring fine hand motion, bending, stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting greater than 55 pounds.

    • Occasionally: Use ladders, keyboards, and a mouse.
