At Pauley Construction, LLC, as a Drafter Designer, you’ll plot, map, design, and draft in CADD using the requirements for telecommunications networks and permits. You will create accurate network maps, layouts, drawings, and detailed electronic construction prints to meet customer expectations.

What you’ll do
- You will assist with the execution of projects and plans supporting the organization's long-term drafting strategy
- Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs in various applications/software
- Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks
- Work with Engineering and Construction departments and coordinate with permitting agencies
- Create documentation and reporting to support the work package, ie: bill of materials, labor quantities, etc.
- Ensure facility designs follow company standards and comply with the requirements of local, state and federal regulations, which may include Rural Utilities Service (RUS)
- You will identify and course correct project issues and risks, participate in response plans to resolve
- Provide any documentation required for the cost-effective placement of communication facilities
- Meet project deadlines and successfully complete tasks under tight timelines
- Other duties as assigned
What you’ll need
- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or at least three years of telecommunications OSP Design/Engineering Experience is required
- Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred
Knowledge of:
- You will have solid experience with the principles and practices of fiber specific projects, network deployments and related fields
- Telecommunications industry standards
- Regulations for OSP facilities
- Aerial, buried and underground construction methods and engineering requirements
- Government permit requirements
- OSP Communications Design systems
- Applications such as NDS, FROGS, AutoCAD, Fireworks, Bidmaster, Infinium and/or Varasset
- Knowledge of fiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environment
Other Requirements:
- Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening
- Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed
- May be required to work after hours; on weekends or be on-call as work is needed
- Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position
Pay Range: The Drafter/Designer hourly wage range is $20.00 - $22.00 depending on experience.
