The Specialist Project assists the assigned management team to maintain project/contract organization and efficiency. It may be responsible for a variety of specific project-related tasks assigned by project leadership based on the needs and size of the assigned project. The Project Specialist  maintains assigned task responsibility, keeping the overall success of the project/contract at the forefront of mind.

What you’ll do

  • Develops, maintains and updates project documentation.
  • Performs various program tasks as assigned by project leadership.
  • Develops and maintains effective and complete project files (physical and/or electronic);
  • Read, comprehend, and utilize network maps and plans to create as-builts with Bluebeam.
  • Sets up new projects;
  • Applies for, attains, documents and tracks project permits in a timely manner to facilitate continuous project flow;
  • Tracks project changes and scheduling delays as requested;
  • Applies industry standard and project specific units to draw appropriate conclusions regarding units placed for production and billing accuracy as assigned;
  • Collects and reviews all project documentation, prepares the final closeout package and submits to appropriate personnel and the customer in a timely fashion as required. Identifies documentation deficiencies and reports to appropriate project leaders;
  • Acts as backup to other project personnel (either within the same project or assisting with other projects) as directed;
  • Participates in any required continuous training;
  • Supports all company policies, procedures and initiatives related to project success;
  • Some travel may be required;
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Performs root cause analysis to drive process improvement.
  • Interfacing with internal team members, project management, schedule requirements, communication and participates in the implementation of complex business intelligence solutions across the company that supports Operations and Project Management efforts.
  • Provide analytical support for complex cross-functional projects simultaneously, establish work plans and timelines, and coordinate with internal resources.
  • Overseeing final production, Working with supervisors to have explanations for both overages and not needed units. Following up with Vendor to get approvals and appropriately close out projects.

What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
  • Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
  • May be required to work  after hours; on weekends or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed.
  • May include working nights and holidays as needed.
  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.

 

Additional qualifications

 

  • Associates degree in the telecom construction industry or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication;
  • Basic math skills including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units of measure and using whole numbers, fractions and decimals;
  • Ability to read and comprehend various written and data driven correspondence including but not limited to production reports, project work orders, design prints, etc.
  • Basic computer operating and data entry skills;
  • Experience with basic computer software systems including but not limited to Database, Internet, Spreadsheet, Word Processing, e-mail and PDF creation; Google application experience is strongly preferred;
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimum guidance;
  • Ability to apply project management concepts, and methodologies.
  • Able to meet multiple urgent deadlines in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with the team.

  • Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.   • The noise level in the work environment for this position is low.
  • Employees performing functions of this position are occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog.
  • Employees performing these job functions may be required to lift or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 30 pounds.

Pay Range: The Specialist Project hourly wage range is $18.00 - $23.00, depending on experience.
