​The manager billing is responsible for leading and managing the billing operations for a specific area. The individual is responsible for implementing and enforcing policies and procedures, as well as streamlining effective billing processes for various projects. This position is highly visible and requires a strong leader with the ability to prioritize, plan, and direct billing operations while maintaining a high level of attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to handle change in a fast paced environment.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee, streamline and enforce various project billing procedures
  • Maintain weekly, monthly and quarterly billing goals
  • Month-end closing of the billing group information
  • Manage direct report(s) to provide high quality results and meet billing deadlines. This may include hiring, training, coaching, and disciplining employees as needed.
  • Responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of various billing operations and ensuring jobs are billed in a timely fashion.
  • Responsible for resolving billing situations and customer issues as quickly as possible and making any process improvements as needed
  • Must understand various contract and billable items, including material as well as any other billing related item that relates to the overall billing process and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
  • Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
  • May be required to work after hours; on weekends or be on-call as work is needed.  
  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Travel between Arizona sites may be required as business needs require.

 

Additional Qualifications

 

Education/Experience:

  • Two to four years of proven leadership and team building experience involving developing others to be successful and produce high quality work
  • Two to four years of progressive billing operations experience involving process management; implementation and adapting to frequent changes within the billing guidelines.
  • Any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates ability to perform the designated job duties and responsibilities of the position.

 

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to make common sense understanding to carry out instructions that are provided in written, oral or drawing. Ability to deal with and understand problems involving different variables in many varied situations. Ability to collect, organize, disseminate and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to adapt to process changes very quickly that have high impact on business operations.

 Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and apply concepts of basic mathematics including algebra. Ability to understand complex mathematical formulas specific to accounting functions.

 Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret documents such as program manuals and process procedures. Ability to write information including reports. Ability to speak effectively to customers, vendors and coworkers up through all levels of management and staff.

 

Software Requirements:

  • Must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) including ability to create, understand and edit formulas as well as interpret data used in Excel for accounting purposes
  • Must have general computer knowledge including computer navigation and operation.

Pay Range: The Annual salary wage range for the Manager Billing  position is $65,000 - $70,000, depending on experience.
