What you’ll do
- You will include repair services automobiles, trucks and other construction equipment.
- You will perform minor repairs of equipment on jobsites.
- You will determine nature and extent of damage or malfunction and upon determination order parts.
- You will plan all work procedures.
- You will raise vehicles, with hydraulic jack or hoist, to gain access to mechanical units bolted to underside of vehicle.
- You will disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear.
What you’ll need
- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
- Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
- Mechanics may be expected to provide their own standard tools. The shop will supply large-diameter and specialty tools as needed
- A minimum of 1 year experience as a mechanic, preferably with a focus on fleet vehicles or commercial equipment
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Proficient in diagnostic tools and equipment
Physical abilities & exposures
- Routinely: Climb stairs, lift between 26 and 55 pounds, bend, stoop, fine hand motion, squeeze, stand, use portable ladder, walk, work in confined spaces, work with arms above shoulder level, operate heavy machinery and vehicles
- Occasionally: use keyboard & mouse, lift greater than 55 pounds, work alone in remote locations, and at heights.
Pauley Construction, LLC; as well as the position of Mechanic, are safety sensitive.
Pay Range: The Mechanic position pays an hourly wage of $25.00 - $35.00, depending upon experience.
