At ​Professional Teleconcepts, as a Sr Specialist Safety, you’ll lead safety program implementation across regions, mentor safety team members, and ensure operational compliance with all regulatory and internal safety requirements.

The dynamic indvidual for this role will be able to cover all aspects of the safety program including:

 

  • Subcontractor Safety Oversight: Demonstrated experience monitoring and auditing lower-tier subcontractor safety performance on high-intensity jobsites.
  • Dual-Layer Governance: Proven ability to align subcontractor activities with both internal company standards and strict General Contractor (GC) EHS programs
  • Clear Boundary Management: Thorough understanding of subcontractor liabilities, including OSHA recordability vs. compensability distinctions, daily job hazard analysis (JHA) enforcement, and site orientation tracking.
  • Joint Safety Culture: Ability to coach and integrate subcontractor crews into a unified, high-standard safety culture
  • Active Field Presence (70/30 Rule): Highly visible, hands-on field presence dedicated to conducting daily walk-throughs, safety observations, and coaching crews directly in work environments (not a desk-bound administrative role).
  • Specialized Hazard Awareness: Deep knowledge of low-voltage/telecom field risks, specifically optical/laser safety rules, fiber shard management, ergonomic positioning during long splicing shifts, and controlled-space housekeeping.
  • Second-Shift & Off-Hours Program Support: Ability to establish, audit, and maintain consistent safety protocols and handoff procedures across multi-shift operations (including late-shift/overnight activities).
  • GC & Owner Liaison: Serves as the primary point of contact for General Contractor EHS managers and Meta site representatives; manages incident reporting, root-cause investigations, and regulatory communications.
  • Workforce Transition Support: Experience helping teams transition from heavy subcontractor reliance to a hybrid/direct-hire workforce by standardizing onboarding, safety training, and behavioral coaching.
  • Proactive Hazard Mitigation: Strong focus on leading indicators, identifying unsafe behaviors, near-misses, and site hazards before they result in recordable injuries or work stoppages.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee field safety compliance across assigned territories
  • Mentor Safety Specialists and support their development
  • Lead complex investigations and provide executive summaries
  • Develop training materials and lead workshops
  • Analyze safety data and identify performance trends
  • Coordinate cross-site improvement projects
  • Serve as SME for safety standards and updates
  • Collaborate with management on strategic initiatives
  • Represent company during regulatory inspections
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout all levels

 

Pay rate is $30/hr - $40/hr depending on experience

What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of safety experience, including team leadership or program ownership
  • Designated professional safety credentials are preferred 
  • Ability to lead safety discussions at all organizational levels

Physical abilities & exposures

  • Routinely: Climb stairs, complete and maintain training, use keyboard/mouse, lift 10–25 pounds, stand, walk, work alone in remote locations, operate vehicles
  • Occasionally: Lift 26–55 pounds, bend/stoop, perform repetitive hand movements, use portable ladders, work at heights, work in confined spaces, work with arms above shoulder level, operate heavy machinery
