At Professional Teleconcepts, LLC (IL), we are seeking a highly capable Foreman to lead high-visibility, large-scale infrastructure projects within mission-critical hyperscaler data center environments. This role focuses on overseeing the termination and testing of both high-density fiber optic and shielded copper cabling, ensuring that all physical layer connections meet stringent performance standards and pass rigorous certification.

Summary / Objective

The Foreman will organize, manage, and plan the daily on-site activities for termination and testing crews from inception to closeout. You will directly manage and provide the operational oversight required to successfully service the hyperscaler client. You will use discretion and independent judgment to develop guidelines, monitor compliance, enforce strict data center protocols, and ensure the project is delivered on time, to specifications, and within budget.

Pay range is $45-$50/ per hour depending on experience.

What you’ll do

Essential Functions

• Site Leadership: Lead an on-site technical team of terminate and test technicians to complete the assigned deployment projects on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.

• Termination Oversight: Manage the installation and dressing of high-density MTP/MPO panels at IDFs and cores at the MDF/MMR. Oversee the field-termination process of shielded copper (Cat6A) across various edge devices.

• Quality Control & Testing: Oversee all physical layer testing, including Tier 1 OLTS insertion-loss certification for fiber trunks and Level III/IV tester certification for copper drops, ensuring performance meets stringent hyperscaler standards.

• Documentation & Closeout: Guarantee the production of clean, meticulously labeled, and documented terminations. Ensure all test reports are accurately generated and consolidated to feed the final project close-out package.

• Risk Management & Safety: Conduct risk assessments, report identified risks to management, and provide recommendations for mitigation, particularly regarding site-specific safety hazards, critical facility rules, and clean-room environment restrictions. Enforce strict connector cleaning and inspection protocols to protect sensitive equipment.

• Client & Vendor Liaison: Act as the primary on-site liaison between our company, the hyperscaler client, facility representatives, other trades, and equipment vendors. Address questions, concerns, and complaints throughout the project lifecycle.

• Scheduling & Administration: Utilize project management software to build daily progress reports and manage crew schedules to align with the Baseline Project Schedule.

• Cross-functional Interface: Interface with all levels of management in operations, engineering, installation, and procurement services to implement needed areas of change and operational improvements.

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid State driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record 
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• At least 4 years of experience splicing, placing, and testing fiber strands

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Communication & Interpersonal: Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

• Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize, delegate, and meet strict regulatory deadlines. Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

• Analytical: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve and minimize recurring field problems, particularly regarding optical link failures, failed copper certifications, and dirty connectors.

• Technical: Broad knowledge of industry-standard testing software and equipment (OLTS, Level III/IV copper testers), and best practices for high-density fiber and shielded copper terminations.

• Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of (or the ability to quickly learn about) hyperscaler network architectures, active data center environments, and data center hot/cold aisle protocols.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Hours: Must be able to work a minimum of 50 hours per week, including nights and weekends as required by project demands or maintenance windows.

• Travel & Site Conditions: Includes a remote office environment, but also requires travel with potential overnight stays. Must be able to work in active data center environments, adhering to strict security, PPE, and noise safety requirements.

• Physicality: Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, and the physical dexterity to navigate around server racks, overhead conveyances, and under raised floors.
