Under the direction of project leadership, you will lead daily safety briefings, audit active elevated work, enforce 100% fall protection and tool tethering, oversee drop-zone barricades, and conduct hazard assessments across all shifts. You will serve as the primary on-site authority for safety compliance, maintaining a proactive safety culture while enabling production on aggressive milestone schedules.
Essential Functions
-
Elevated & High-Angle Safety Oversight: Enforce 100% fall protection compliance and tool-tethering rules for overhead operations reaching 40–45 feet (basket trays, unit struts, roof trusses). Verify daily aerial lift (MEWP) pre-shift inspections and operator certifications.
-
Drop Zone & Multi-Trade Coordination: Manage ground safety spotters and establish physical perimeter barricades ("danger zones") beneath overhead work areas. Coordinate travel lanes and spatial boundaries alongside active co-habitating trades in congested high-bay environments.
-
JTSA & Pre-Task Reviews: Lead daily morning safety meetings and verify Job Technical Safety Assessments (JTSAs) for all crew members. Ensure JTSAs are updated immediately when task scope, environment, or physical hazards change.
-
Incident Management & Reporting: Investigate and document all near-misses, injuries, property damage, or policy violations immediately. Ensure initial incident reports are escalated to site leadership and client POCs within mandated timeframes.
-
Heat-Related Illness & Environmental Safety: Implement and manage site heat stress prevention plans for intensive 12-hour shifts, including monitoring heat index conditions, enforcing mandatory hydration/rest cycles, ensuring shaded/conditioned break areas, and training crews to identify early symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
-
Specialized Trade & Material Safety: Inspect enclosed space work areas (10ft10ft IDF rooms) for proper ventilation, egress paths, dust control, and safe manual handling of heavy hardware/plywood. Oversee HazCom compliance (SDS) for fire-stop sealants and fiber optic glass shard management.
-
Client Policy Compliance & Audit Enforcement: Enforce client-specific contractor conduct rules (badging, photo/video bans, ITAR data protection, traffic regulations, and LOTO compliance) to eliminate risk of financial deductions or site bans.
-
Stop Work Authority: Exercise and enforce Stop Work Authority immediately upon observing unmitigated hazards, unsafe acts, or non-compliant site conditions without hesitation.
Pay range is $45-$60 per hour depending on experience

-
High-Bay & Lift Operations: Proven expertise managing safety for high-angle work (40ft+) utilizing boom lifts, scissor lifts, and overhead structural rigging.
-
Communication & Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and conflict-resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to enforce safety compliance diplomatically with field crews under tight production deadlines.
-
Analytical & Auditing Skills: Strong risk assessment capabilities to evaluate job sites, identify hidden physical/environmental hazards, and review complex safety documentation.
