What you’ll do
- Coordinate with remote drafting and GIS personnel to produce construction drawings for the network
- Plan, design, and obtain permits for new cable routes
- Work as part of a multi-faceted team of engineering, construction, project management, and scheduling personnel, all with a common interest of delivering results to the customer
- Engage regularly with the customer’s engineering team and project management for updates and feedback
- Provide frequent project progress updates and risk assessments to the management team
- Design aerial and underground telecommunications plant routes
- Other duties as assigned
What you’ll need
- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, plus at least one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination
- Proficient with Excel & Word
Knowledge of
- Telecommunications industry standards
- Regulations for OSP facilities
- Aerial or underground construction methods and engineering requirements
- Government permit requirements
- OSP facilities, construction techniques and conduit records
- Easement, right of way and permit documents
- AutoCAD/Microstation or Geographic Information Systems
- Fiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics
Physical abilities & exposures
- Routinely: operate vehicle, walk, use keyboard and mouse
- Occasionally: climb stairs and stand
