At RJE Telecom, as a FiOS Provisioning Engineering Technician Plant, you'll monitor main engineering bucket for FiOS installation order issues, provide engineering assistance as needed, handle DS1 and GPON migration requests (OOS and Chronic) for most of New York and various other duties. Previous FiOS experience required. Familiarity of NY area a plus.
This is a remote position. Candidate must have previous FiOS experiece and be familiar with the NY area.

What you’ll do
- Monitor main FiOS bucket for FiOS installation orders
- Provide engineering assistance as needed
- Handle DS1 and GPON migration requests (OOS and Chronic) for most of NY
- Monitor CXM bucket and resolve CXM order fall out terms and refer where necessary
- Handle email requests from customer representatives or engineers regarding future due date issues
- Handle email fall out task items such as past due order reassignment, past due order reschedule, future dated order reassignment
- Assist Tech on site with hub changes, terminal changes, MDU ONT changes, sub loc builds, microduct issues
- Other duties as assigned
What you’ll need
- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
- At least two years of Telecom Outside Plant Engineering experience
- Proficient with Excel and Word
Knowledge of
- Telecommunications industry standards
- Regulations for OSP facilities
- Aerial or underground construction methods and engineering requirements
- Infrastructure plans and surveys to avoid conflicts with underground obstacles to ensure proper installation in easements and public rights of way
- Government permit requirements
- Fiber optic counts, assignments, and splicing schematics in high-density environments
- AutoCAD/Microstation or Geographic Information Systems
Physical abilities & exposures
- Routinely: operate vehicle, walk, use keyboard and mouse
- Occasionally: climb stairs and stand
