As an Aerial Foreman at TCS Communications, you’ll lead field crews in the construction and maintenance of aerial fiber and telecommunications networks. You’ll serve as the on-site leader, driving safety, productivity, and quality while ensuring every project meets company and industry standards. From operating and supervising aerial equipment to troubleshooting field challenges, you’ll manage daily jobsite operations and keep work moving efficiently and safely. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong aerial construction experience who enjoys mentoring crews, tackling field issues with confidence, and taking pride in delivering dependable, high-quality telecom infrastructure.
What you’ll do

Lead, train & support aerial crew members to ensure safe, high quality work

Communicate job expectations and daily production goals clearly and professionally

Conduct daily safety tailgates, equipment checks, and jobsite hazard assessments

Oversee installation, maintenance & repair of aerial fiber and telecom lines
-
Safely operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, and related aerial equipment
-
Work at heights using climbing hooks, ladders, and approved fall-protection systems

Build and install aerial support structures including strand, anchors, and hardware

Ensure all work complies with company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines (OSHA, NESC, etc.)

Maintain a safe jobsite and proper traffic control at all times

Enforce PPE and safety policies and coach crew members as needed

Identify risks, troubleshoot field challenges, and make real-time decisions to keep work progressing safely

Complete daily work logs, jobsite reports & crew compliance documentation

Track production, crew performance, and material usage

Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, and customers

Participate in storm restoration and emergency response when needed (short-notice travel required)

Assist with ground tasks and hands-on work when needed to support crew success

Perform additional duties as assigned to assist in project completion and crew efficiency

What you’ll need

Must be 18 years of age or older
-
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
-
Ability to pass pre-employment screenings
-
Valid driver's license (non-provisional)
-
Able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card
-
Minimum 3 years of aerial telecom, fiber, or utility line construction experience

Certified pole climber or willing to become certified

Experience operating bucket trucks, digger derricks, and aerial construction tools and equipment

Working knowledge of aerial construction standards and safety regulations (OSHA, NESC, DOT)

CDL Class A preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Ability to lead, coach, and support crew members in the field

Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various outdoor environments and weather conditions

Ability to routinely lift 60+ lbs, climb poles and ladders, work with arms overhead, bend, stoop, walk, stand, and operate vehicles and heavy equipment

Must be able to work independently in remote locations & as part of a crew

Willingness to travel & respond to storm/emergency restoration when required
