As an Aerial Groundhand, you’ll be an essential part of our aerial construction team, working alongside experienced field crews, providing on-the-ground support, and assisting with daily tasks that keep fiber projects moving safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on, entry-level role designed to help you learn the trade from the ground up, with a clear path to advance into an aerial lineman or equipment operator position as you build your skills and experience.
What you’ll do

Provide tools, hardware, fiber materials, and support to linemen and equipment operators

Assist with staging and loading equipment, ladders, and materials before and after shifts

Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, and equipment under crew direction

Perform hand digging with shovels or mechanical tools to expose utilities and prepare poles

Stock, clean, and maintain company vehicles, tools, and jobsite equipment

Complete daily door-tagging and resident notifications before construction begins

Direct and flag traffic in accordance with DOT and municipal safety guidelines

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite

Work outdoors in all weather conditions

Travel to job sites as needed and work overtime or on-call shifts when required

Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the crew leader or foreman

What you’ll need

Must be 18 years of age or older
-
Ability to pass pre-employment screenings
-
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
-
Valid state driver’s license (non-provisional) with an acceptable driving record
-
Willing to complete pole-climbing certification; prior pole-climbing experience a plus
-
Previous labor or construction experience preferred; telecom experience a plus

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and follow strict safety procedures

Able to routinely work with arms overhead, climb, bend, stoop, stand, walk, and lift up to 60lbs

Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in remote field locations

Able to operate company vehicles, tools, and heavy equipment as trained

Occasional use of ladders, computers, and handheld digital devices

Willing and able to travel, work overtime, and participate in on-call schedules as needed
