As a Permit Coordinator, you will assist in providing support in design and coordinate outside plant work orders and drawings under general supervision. You will also coordinate with the drafting and GIS teams and plan and permit new cable routes.

What you’ll do

    • Time Stamped Photos: Document the entire length of the project.

    • Utility Indicators: Identify existing indicators to determine their offsets from the centerline, back-of-curb, or edge of pavement. 

    • Right-of-Way (R/W): Confirm R/W distances using the property appraiser's website and their plats.

    • Existing Damages: Document any existing driveway or sidewalk cracks with photos and note them on the drawing.

    • Drill Setup and Staging: Identify setup locations. For tight areas, plan alternative routes, particularly for bores across roads between blocks.

    • Sidewalk Panels: Identify any panels that require removal and replacement.

    • Utility Crossings: Identify existing utilities under the pavement that we will be crossing and schedule soft digs if necessary.

    • Running Line: Determine the final offset for the conduit placement.

    • DOT Setup: Note requirements for lane closures or flagging. Ensure any road time restrictions are documented on the permit.

    • Communication:  Ensure the following points are addressed and relayed to the Permit Supervisor for clarity of the drawings he will submit.

    • Additional Duties as assigned.

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (AutoCad, GIS, Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science) or 3+ years’ related experience.

Proficient in the use of hardware and software (PCs, Tablets, IKE, ArcMap, Ocalc Pro, CAD, ArcGIS, Google.

Advanced proficiency in assigned function (Drafting, Designing, Make Ready, Geographic Information Systems.

Ability to obtain MOT certification.

Ability to travel for training and other job-related purposes >25%.

Authorized to work in the United States.

Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check.
