What you’ll do
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operational Management: Provide executive and operational leadership across all assigned branch offices and locations in Iowa. Direct, oversee, and support Division Managers and Supervisors in daily operations and customer satisfaction.
Financial & Margin Goals: Assist Executive Management in setting, monitoring, and achieving profit margin goals. Review and analyze budget estimates, project progress reports, material costing, and cost tracking reports.
Contract Compliance & Business Development: Acquire complete knowledge of all customer contracts (units, materials, pricing, and specific requirements) to ensure strict compliance. Actively cultivate new business opportunities and strengthen existing client relationships.
Resource Allocation: Collaborate with Division Managers/Supervisors to verify and budget necessary resources (personnel, materials, equipment, subcontractors) to safely and profitably meet production deadlines.
Quality & Safety Assurance: Ensure adherence to company quality control standards, safety initiatives, and DOT compliance, working closely with HR and Safety departments.
Permitting & Equipment Oversight: Assist local leadership in obtaining necessary permits/licenses and managing equipment scheduling, maintenance, and procurement through cost-benefit analysis.
Talent & Employee Development: Manage onboarding, performance evaluations, employee development plans, and training programs for staff, partnering with HR.
Facility & Lease Management: Oversee care and maintenance of assigned facilities, equipment, and residential/storage leases to ensure cost savings and optimal utilization.
Field Support & Other Duties: Perform field personnel duties as needed and carry out additional operational duties as assigned.
What you’ll need
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in an industry-related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) plus 4–7 years of telecommunications construction experience.
Leadership Experience: Minimum of 2 years in project leadership or supervisory roles.
Certifications & Licensures: Current DOT health card required; Class A CDL Driver’s License preferred.
Technical & Domain Expertise: Extensive knowledge in all aspects of telecommunications utility construction (OSP/ISP infrastructure).
Financial & Project Acumen: Proficient understanding of financial practices, revenue forecasting, market analysis, budget management, and project management methodologies.
Software Proficiency: Proficient in Google Workspace applications (Gmail, Sheets, Docs), project management software, accounting/database software, and standard internet services.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Professional written and verbal communication skills with strong negotiation, consensus-building, and group presentation capabilities.
Working Conditions & Travel: Ability to handle confidential information, travel regionally across Iowa, and be available/on-call 24/7 for assigned location emergencies.
