Role Overview
The Billing Supervisor oversees and leads the daily operations of the billing department. This role ensures that all customer invoicing, subcontractor billing entries, daily work allocations, and Work In Progress (WIP) reconciliations are executed in an accurate, compliant, and timely manner.
The Billing Supervisor works closely with Program Managers, Operations Administration, Accounts Payable, and external clients to resolve complex billing escalations and drive continuous workflow improvements within ERP systems (including SAP).

What you’ll do
Essential Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Supervision
-
Direct, train, and mentor Billing Specialist in daily billing routines, invoicing tasks, and system entries.

Delegate workloads and prioritize daily billing queues to ensure deadlines and SLA requirements are consistently met.

Conduct periodic performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support staff professional development.
Billing Operations & Financial Management
-
Oversee full-cycle customer invoicing, ensuring alignment with contracts, rate sheets, and customer-specific procedures.

Monitor and manage aged invoices, unblock daily production entries, and reconcile monthly Work In Progress (WIP).

Audit production billing, crew/subcontractor dailies, and redlines for accuracy and completion prior to client submission.

Research, investigate, and resolve denied or rejected customer invoices to ensure swift payment resolution.
Subcontractor & AP Coordination

Oversee accurate data entry for subcontractor production and assist with lien waiver processing.

Partner with Accounts Payable on subcontractor payment/banking queries and reconcile subcontractor research/damage claims.
Systems & Process Improvement

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for billing processes in SAP and Dycom support tools.

Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and customer-specific billing requirement documents.

Assist leadership in testing, implementing, and adopting new software tools to enhance organizational productivity and reporting accuracy.
What you’ll need
Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Minimum four (4) to six (6) years of progressive billing or accounting experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.

Industry Background: Telecom construction, utility infrastructure, or general contracting experience strongly preferred.

Software Systems:
-
Proficiency in SAP preferred.

Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office Suite (especially MS Excel).

Familiarity with Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Drive).

Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude with extreme detail orientation.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to multi-task, manage high-stress situations, and meet firm month-end close deadlines.

Office environment based in Selma, TX.

Ability to remain seated at a computer terminal for extended periods.

Flexibility to work late hours during month-end billing and time/attendance processing periods as required.
